From "My Head" to "The Web"

I have been on the Internet more than usual this past week! Some Pinning for Bliss-ologie (and myself), lots of mucking about for work (argh! last week!!), and lots of following links and seeing where they will take me.

And most of it is good...and most of it is inspiring, and has inspired me to tackle some items on my to-do list (or add some more), and has filled my mind with positive images and thoughts. It's funny what happens to your mind when you are in a transition phase. This week is my last week at my current job! Starting over and starting fresh can be scary, but it is also invigorating and inspiring! This change has really helped me believe in myself and my abilities, and take charge of the choices I have made. This proves that they were right on.

I have new energy! And this energy is translating into new ideas, and the drive to see those ideas through! I am trying my darndest to live in the moment, but I am also looking to the future and making plans for how I can ride this wave for as long as possible! Exclamation points!

Here are some fun things I have found...I hope they inspire you as well!

for today
I like cake! (surprise surprise...) The gals at work are going to "surprise" me with a cake of my very own on my last day of work. Simone suggested something from Wild Earth Bakery. Yes please!

for tomorrow
I don't know about you, but I need this t-shirt. Maybe I'll actually catch it back in stock one day! Of course, I don't think it's "work-appropriate"...but.....it's fucking Bill Fucking Murray.

for the summer
My summer goal is to run a 5k, my first ever! Eek! That's what you get for meeting with a personal trainer. Too bad this one is sold out!

for one day
Did you know that you can rent a treehouse?! For reals! This has to happen...one day!

Have you been super inspired to do anything recently? Are you riding a wave of energy, or have you reached a low point? Do you like Bill Murray too?

When I Go A-Webbering

I hate badly designed websites. I really do. I was pricing out some appointment cards at work the other day, at my glamorous day job, and if I found myself on a website that wasn't immediately user-friendly, easy to maneuver and good-looking, I closed the tab.

If you can't give me a website that I can use easily, I don't want to do business with you. End of story.

I think the same goes with blogging. If your blog isn't readable, I'm not going to read it.

Yep.

And yet sometimes, a website that doesn't immediately work for me, works in my favour.

I am supposed to be on a self-imposed online shopping BAN. Ha ha....like that's set in stone or something. But when I saw that my two favourite pair of shoes are ON SALE on the Blowfish website, all my will power went out the gall-darned window and I filled my cart right up.

And then I got this message...meaning it wasn't going to be 100% easy for me to place this order.
And for this I say: "Thank you Blowfish Shoes".

And so I do not have a couple of pairs of cheap shoes headed my way. So what. I will put that money towards some shelves, a night out with friends, or "Mexico 2013, The Godin Wedding Experience".

And that feels much better than new shoes ever could!

Sunday Finds

Oh my. The list is a doozy today!

Handmade gorgeous shoes from Bali: ELF

This art is absolutely stunning and breath-taking!

An IKEA hack that doesn't involve carpentry skills? I'm in!!

Learning to draw book series by Peter Jenny.

This hanging succulent garden is quite lovely. This one too! So far I only have one tiny succulent to my name, but it's growing so I feel confident to get some more!

This sign was made for me!

HEY CHANTEL! It's Zentangles in real life!

While it may seem pricey, I would totally spend $7 on an envelope that is also my stationery!! Go Aerogram! How Jane Austen of them! I love their cards and other stuff as well!

This installation is heavenly! And so inspiring! I want to go and make some of my own giant cross-stitch!

Another wood DIY that I can get behind. I have been wanting to make a wooden headboard for some time, and I think this is just the right thing to get me started!

Neon paper in a chalkboard covered notebook. Need I say more?

Thanks to the Poppytalk Handmade blog for all my links today! I spent some time there on Thursday (catching up in Reader) and I had forgotten how much I enjoy their site! You should check it out for yourself!

Staying Up Late & Internetting It Up

I did something silly the other night. I went and found some new blogs to read. And they were lovely and beautiful and so much nicer than mine. More features, and more fanfare, and more external content. And the comparisons began in my head, and I started thinking and re-thinking all that I do here.

And then I remembered that I like my little ol' blog, just the way she is!

And then I did some online window shopping, which is always also a bad idea!
Anything from this shop
And I totally bought this dress...I guess it wasn't all window shopping.

And some of the new blogs, for those of you interested:

And a fun tutorial...that even I could handle!

Honestly, I love my little place on the Internet. I love that it is fueled by me, and what I do and make and build. And how I see the world. I was reluctant to share this part of me with a new friend, because sometimes non-bloggers just don't "get it". But then I thought: "I am not ashamed or embarrassed about the person I portray here because it is mostly just me". It is part of the truth that is FormerlyLisaS. And if you get to know the "in real life" me then this is just a fun add on.

And that's all I have to say about that.

coming up on the blog...another painty, messy journal, more layouts, a Project Life update, another fashion post!

Found!

I found myself in the midst of a flurry of Internet activity last Friday...all coming from my own browser! I went from one article to another, reading every comment I could find. Feeling happiness and sorrow and vindication and disbelief and anger at every turn.

I thought I would pass on some links, so you can maybe open your mind a little as well...

Harper's Crime Bill really freaks me out...but this just makes me mad.

I know that I would do anything to stand up for my child. It frightens me to think that not everyone is like that, and in some cases people do everything in their power to take away security our children are supposed to feel in their schools.

Finally, a handy infographic to explain my newly found hate-on for carbs!

I think these Mitt Romney's Out-of-Touch moments are sad, but hilarious! Possibly the best/worst of the bunch is #1, when he tries to explain to people that he's empathetic towards the unemployed because he himself is also unemployed...from the mouth of idiots...and to think that one day this guy might be president.

How OAS might change for the better or worse in the coming years...depending on who you ask (don't ask me!)

Are you confused by your taxes? Me too...I can't imagine having to deal with this tax system.

I love Infographics! On buying local. On where to put gov't spending.

And this one, which is quirky and inspiring and vintage and modern. Wonderful! Cabinet Card Superheroes. (you can also try this link, which wasn't working the other day)

And I love this "look book" from Anthropologie! Mixing photos with videos is pretty sweet in my books!

Found! Some Blogs

This is an old post that I came across the other day. It had a different list of blogs when I first opened it, but some had dud-links. So I spruced it up a bit, added some other links, and here we have some lifestyle blogs to check out on this Monday Morning...

Run With Scissors...she has some really neat doodly journals and cute inspiration

Vol. 25...she has a super awesome Etsy shop as well

Little Chief Honeybee. She had a really great post up about staying true to your blogging self, but it looks like she pulled it...too bad! She has a sweet post up right now, offering up a chance to win a slick record player! Add that to my birthday wish list!!

Kyla Roma...Daydreams From a Handmaid Prairie Life. She's from Winnipeg! And so cute!!

And some specific posts...
this post from Pixies and Bears is so full of eye-candy!

I have been adding (and removing) blogs from Google Reader (and to a lesser extent Blog lovin') like crazy lately. There are just so many good blogs out there! I try to find bloggers that are new or have small followings to support. Those big named ones are fun too, but it's nice to see what the little guy is up to now and again!

If you have any favourite blogs I would love to hear about them!

I shouldn't be allowed to online window shop...

I have amassed a huge, imginary list of things I just must have...yeah right. These did not make it on to the birthday wish list because online shopping and my family don't really go together!

Here's some crafty things:

This skirt. the price tag is the only thing I that makes me hesitant, but I so need a new beautful grey skirt of fall. Can you imagine this with some colourful tights and a lacey tank? In lurve.

The new line from Anthropologie. Not only are the clothes amazingly beautiful, the ad campaign, styling and staging has got me all gobsmacked. And these shoes...well...hello!

More Shoes (these ones even made it into an invisible shopping bag!)
Blowfish is kind of my new favourite place to look for shoes. I have seen so many fab styles on some of my favourite bloggers. But I think I missed all the summer sales!

I did buy myself a new pair of shoes the other day, while we were back-to-school-shoe-shopping for Lucas. I really wanted to get him a pair of Velcro Chucks, but they made him make a face and a fuss. So I bought a pair for myself! No Velcro, but I haven't bought a pair of lace-up sneakers in ages, that weren't for working-out, ya-know!? PSA of the Day: when the staff at the shoe store tells your annoying kids to stop running around and screaming in the store...ummm...listen to them and reign in your kids. Geesh.

Happy Friday Peeps!

Found! Sci Fi

So I read Will Wheaton's blog. I write that like it's a guilty pleasure or something. Like I'm embarrassed by the fact. I'm not. He's a good guy.

And thanks to him, I have recently re-discovered an actress - Felicia Day - that I had seen in other things (Buffy among them), and was glad to run into on the web.

And thanks to her, I have a list of videos I need to find!

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog > hello! Neil Patrick Harris + Joss Whedon +Nathan Fillion + singing = awesome! (And there's a book too!)
Dragon Age Web series > a movie based on a video game? count me in!
The Guild > is one she wrote about gamers, and just looks super cool (I have already started watching it, and it is cool. The episodes are only 2 to 5 minutes and super funny! I watched the first season in about 30 minutes.)
And there's a graphic novel of the Guild as well. Love that!

I guess that's it...I wish I had these links in the middle of winter when I had nothing to do but hunker down and watch web-based tv! Now that it's trying to be spring out there, I don't want to be stuck in front of a monitor!

Hey! That's what lap-tops are for...webbering in the back yard! (note: I obviously wrote this the day before we got that last dump of snow. I spent almost all day today playing on the computer...oops!)

Edmonton Blogger...Feature

I was so impressed with this blog when I found it the other day I had to dedicate a post to her!

Featuring Just Bella...all photos are from her.
her DIY necklace holder. I found one of these at Goodwill the other day and couldn't immediately think of a project for it, so I put it back. And now I am kicking myself!!

She has a guest book for her house! If only I had more guests, I would totally jump on board!

Yummy cookies...you really can't go wrong with a post about cookies.

Her house is so gorgeous! Wow...

she is in my Reader, and a new fave fo'shore.

Edmonton Bloggers

I am so jealous of the crafty blogging community coming out of Winnipeg. It seems that every time I stumble on to a cool new blog, the lady just happens to be blogging from our Easterly Sister City. Or, cousin, I guess.

So I thought to myself (out loud actually, cause Kara was in the room): "why doesn't Edmonton have such a community?". And then I thought again: Maybe we do, I just haven't searched for it before.

So I searched for it. Go Google.

And in amongst the Oilers blogs, and real estate blogs, and newspaper blogs, I found some gems...and then I thought, really lisa, how many of these are you going to actually go back and read. So then I narrowed it down some more. And...
This Bird's Day - she posts deals and reviews items

Far North Gardener - good tips for gardening

Sterobait - a music blog (I haven't listened to any of the tunes here, but I love his header!)

Weird Canada - showcases new Canadian music

Paul Franklin - lost his legs in Afghanistan, lots of military, political and disability stuff, but a good read nonetheless!

Urban Observations - a fascinating look at urban planning and policies in Edmonton...too bad he has posted in a long while! The archives are still good to look back on.

The Walrus - this isn't an Edmonton blog, but the post is about an Edmonton artist

Green Edmonton - this is my kind of blog!

How to stay warm in turquoise - FASHION...YAY!

Random Channel Surfing - interesting...

Dees Stitching Corner - crafty stuff

Random Thoughts... - mom stuff

Kerrtastic5 - photography and life stuff (all old posts, now that I look at it...mostly interesting to me because know a girl with the same name...weird)

My buddy from playschool! EEK! I forgot to grab the link...she has lots of blogs (started...)

Loop Frame Love - Friend of buddy listed above...she rides a bike and has a bike blog

bestest best:
**** Just Bella - beautiful photography and home stuff (and a blog I found through her blog is this one, but she's not from Edmonton, so she just gets a passing mention here...ha!: City Cradle)

gosh...what a boring post. I was hoping to pepper this with pictures and Lisa-witticisms, but am really not in the mood! I hope you at least find something fun from one of these local bloggers.

And remember to check out "My Rad Ladies", as linked to the left, for more Edmonton-blogging action (except for Electra...it's not her fault she lives in Calgary...well...)

Fall is for Foxes

For me, fall and foxes go together for some reason. Maybe it's the ruddy brown colour, or the warm fur. Maybe you can find inspiration in these images just as I have!

(I think this last one would make a great Halloween Costume!!)

I'm thinking of starting a grass roots movement that would make the FOX the official mascot for Thanksgiving, not the idiotic turkey. Really? A turkey!? Just cause we eat it for Thanksgiving, doesn't mean it has to show up in cartoon form on napkins, greeting cards, and those goofy paper bell things that you put in the centre of your table.

Foxes, my friend...just think about it.

______________________________________
Do you like to have fun?

Do you like to document those fun times had??

If you answered yes to either of the questions above, or are just a person who is reading my blog, you should enjoy this.

Vimeo's "One Day on Earth" is a project involving artists and others around the globe on October 10, 2010 (10.10.10...get it!?). Essentially, you document your day and make a video out of it. In their own words: "Across the planet documentary filmmakers, students, and inspired citizens will record the human experience over a 24-hour period. By participating in this historic event you will help capture the diversity of experiences of life on this planet. Together we will create a document that is a gift to the world."

Now I would like to issue a challenge to my blog readers. Wherever you might be on October 10th, whatever you might be doing, document your day. I will probably be waking up early to get Lucas off to swimming with Dad. Then bumming around the house for the whole day while waiting to go eat some turkey somewhere for dinner (thank heavens for Thanksgiving Day weekend!). And I will be scrapbooking the heck out of that day! Pictures and mementos and all that good stuff.

Here are some ideas:
- Interview the people who spent the day with you...names, ages, occupations, their favourite colour or jungle animal...whatever! Write it down, and make copies for everyone.
- Document your day in photos...grab a disposable camera and just wander around your city or neighbourhood and take lots of random photos. Make sure you get at least one of yourself! Put all of these together in a little album, just for that day.
- Find the day's headline (it's a Sunday, so it might be a sleepy news day), or an article in the paper that interests you and frame it. Write the story of your day, as if you were reporting it for the local paper, take a photo and print the whole thing out and frame it.
- In the spirit of Vimeo's project, you could make a mini video about your day. Grab the closest video camera, or regular camera with video capabilities and record something. Challenge yourself to make it under 5 minutes, or 2 minutes, or whatever. Involved your roommates, your partner, your kids, your dog...
- And for the scrapbookers out there, make a mini album or a layout to fill with your thoughts and images of the day. That's what I'll be doing!

This is just for funs people, not homework! But isn't it neat to think that people from all over the world are contributing to this project? That there will be so many unique, wonderful, happy, terrifying stories to come out of this? It excites me more than you can know.

If you post your project online somewhere I would like love to see what you came up with! Please share it here as well, even just by including a link in the comments! I'm excited to see what the world has to share.

In tribute of this fun day, I am setting up a giveaway! Yes, another one! Please leave a comment here to win one of the following super fun gifts:
#1. A disposable camera to document 10.10.10 in photos

#2. A fun little photo album in which you may stick all your 10.10.10 photos

10-10-10 Prize

10-10-10 Prize

photography

So I have been known to take photos. I carry a camera with me to places that no one else would think to bring a camera...no one except another photo-enthusiast. like, to the Farmers Market, or to work.

I would never call myself a "photographer"...I play. I document. I take lots of pictures. But I am not in charge of the camera. If I get an "amazing" shot, it's mostly a fluke and unreproducible.

But I do still like to look at pretty pictures!

here are some to share...

all of these are from The Selby...which I think is my new favourite website for inspiration and beautiful things

As always, you can find amazing stuff on Flickr, and Tumblr, and weheartit, and all those other places. Please respect copyright and "quote" your source whenever possible.

it's Monday people!!!

This is on my birthday list. a dalek cake. oh my! it even moves. be still my heart.

*****

And speaking of my birthday, I have debated long and hard about what I want to do to celebrate my birthday. Have a party? Have a couple of parties? Karaoke? Rent a hall? The whole nine yards? Or just go away.

I have decided to go away...to Portland!!

I am so excited! Russ, Lucas and I in Oregon...woo hoo!

And I knew giving the idea to "the Planner" was my best plan. Russ has checked for flights and rental cars, and what's the cheapest way to get there, and all that other stuff. He really wants to see Seattle, so he figured out it's more expensive just to fly to Portland than to fly to Seattle, rent a car there, tour the city for a bit, and then drive to Portland! So I get my trip to Portland plus a road trip! Yippee!!!

And since I like to plan all my vacations around food, I have already found 6+ Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives locations in Portland for us to try. Plus some other fun diners and coffee shops and a great farmers market. Also, I've read that you can take kids (and dogs) into pubs there!?!?

And we're staying in the Ace Hotel.

And it's going to be awesome!

Thirty here I come!!!

*****

The office saga continues. Today there is no furniture in my office, but there is a painter. Today I can't sit at my desk because it is pushed up against a wall in the hallway. Today I had to look in two different rooms to find something to work on, and even then, I don't have everything I need so I am wondering why I'm even here today.

Dianne isn't coming in. She's the smart one.

*****

I did some more sewing yesterday. I bought "dim-out" fabric to add to the curtains in Lucas' room. It is a giant pain in the butt to sew, but I completed most of one panel. And I am very proud of myself...so I have moved onto the pillows in the LR...it's about darn time!

And then I see this fabric on Etsy and think, my house should have a boat theme (oh gosh, it so shouldn't!!!)

Anthropologie used to have a dress in a similar fabric (in navy) that I was in love with. Choreographer Mandy Moore wore it in an episode of SYTYCD. It was just as perfect as the picture.

*****

My class went so well on Saturday...it was like a play date with three lovely ladies!!

I didn't take any photos, but Electra did. I just checked her blog, and no photos yet, but I'll keep you posted.

I love how in these types of classes everyone's end product is so different from each others and from the demo. It makes me happy to see people just create, and play and have fun...no boundaries, no rules, no measuring!!

And I made another book, and my transfer technique finally worked...well, sort of. It worked better than it ever has before!

I need more paint play dates in my life...any takers?

*****

I am just beginning to realize that I have only a short time left to complete my 30 Before 30 List. I'm not worried about getting everything done-done, but it would be nice to have made a good dent. Heck, I don't even have 30 goals listed in there for gosh sakes!

any suggestions?

*****

don't you just love wooden things?
i sure do.

but speaking of wooden things, I am going the way of Nadine via Whiteberry Reinvented and painting my bedroom furniture white. yay! instead of finding new pieces (annoying, pricey, have to convince Russel), I am going to repurpose the old ugly ones.

I'm hoping to use Mom's garage for most of the work, so I don't have to worry about things getting dusty and dirty in the yard. It's more moving of things than I would like, but I'm hoping it will be easier in the long run.

And if you have never checked out Lee Valley...do yourself a favour and browse through their hardware catalogue. Oh. My. Goodness. How do you even pick a favourite? I like page 52 letter G, page 48 letters O through U,  page 46 all of it, and page 10 with the key holes.

Decisions, decisions...

We were at Home Depot yesterday, ordering new blinds for Lucas' room, and so I wandered through all the fun aisles while Russ was doing the boring stuff. I found some fabulous wall paper that had a sea foam base with shiny silver damask-type print on it. Wow!

And I have begun to fall in love with laminate floor again. But I keep changing my mind on what I would like, so I just can't decide. Plus, I like to procrastinate the actual doing of work...I am more of an "ideas girl" so even if we bought flooring next week, it might not get done until 2012!! HA! Hence the installation option...duh Lisa.

*****
Have I mentioned that I am in love with mushrooms lately? No, not the hallucinogenic kind...c'mon people.

I think I need to find a Mushrooms of Alberta book. They are just so proliferous this year, and so many more varieties than I have ever seen before. I love me a fun-guy!! HA!

All this talk of mushrooms reminds me of my Bio 107 Lab TA. He was into mushrooms. And he was quite a character.

*****

And for one last bit of inspiration before I clock out for the day (it's not even noon yet and I have officially given up)

scrapbooking, inspiration, crafts, life
i love blogs like this
plus, it's pretty!

case of the Mondays

so, I had to sneak behind the photocopier to get to my desk this morning. and my desk has drywall dust all over it. not that I'm complaining...it's pretty much another slacker day in my little world. Dianne and I are "tag-teaming" it this week: I'm here Mon.-Tues. and she's here Wed.-Thurs. We can't both be in our office at the same time. oh my. plus the work we asked them to do in here hasn't been done. she's not going to be happy when she comes in on Wed!!

so I brought some magazines to copy, and I'm sure I can find something fun to check out on the Internet. Plus I'll be slowly reading all the mail, and writing some cheques. Did I mention it's really slow at the office right now...all the "important" people are on vacation!!
*****

how does everyone like my blog mini re-do? has anyone noticed how I shook things up a bit and got rid of my long link lists? anyone???
*****

what did y'all spend your weekend at? I did a lot of reading and sitting around. some Farmer's Marketing, with a little Park N Ride on the side. Some dirt shovelling and transporting. A little Make And Taking at TM. taco making and margherita slurpping. all in all, it was a good one.

i also bought some school supplies and school shoes for Lucas...ack! that was traumatic. but I do so love to buy markers and pens and crayons that it wasn't so bad...I just pretended I was buying them for home-use (and then I actually bought some for home use!!). Toys R Us had a good sale on: BOGO 50% off on Crayola stuff. good deal.

I'm also busy planning and preparing for Lucas' 5th birthday party, which is also giving me the freak outs. but I took some inspiration from Kirsten, and made a logo that I am going to sew onto the goodie bags and now I am back into the swing of things. that being said, I am not going to turn into one of those Moms who goes insanely overboard with decor and treats and all that jazz for their kids' birthdays. I might be planning on making some decorations out of old records, but that's mostly just so I can say I did it, and then use them in Lucas' room! Re: the freak outs, I have to look at it as just another party and not a birthday milestone.

speaking of birthday milestones...i still have no idea what I want to do for my birthday coming up in September, and it's a big one. party? trip? simple dinner out? I have some ideas, but nothing seems right. any suggestions?
*****

inspiring me today...
these photos that "Old Lady" kara took at a vintage shop near her home town. The black frames on black wall are enough to make me swoon...but that couch and chandelier make it heavenly.

and I love collections of random chairs. rather, I love random collections of chairs...whatever...
and her little slide necklaces are too cute
this picture (and others) on Kirstens's blog. super fun! isn't she gorgeous? even in cartoon form!?!?
*****

I had almost totally forgotten about my debut on the Twisted Sketches site...check out the full post here. Everyone's layouts are so fab, and so different from each other. This is going to be a fun ride!! I've finished commenting on all the submitters' blogs, and I'm sure there's something else I'm supposed to be doing to fulfill my commitment, but I can't remember...ummm...guess I better check my email. Then back to work, I promise!

life and etc.

This article makes me feel...something...it's like vindication, but not really. Like satisfaction. Or camaraderie. Or a connection beyond time with the moms of the world. it's peace really, knowing that I'm not the only who feels this way.

Kyla sums things up perfectly, re: my thoughts on "soul mates" here. Read on: I really don’t like the idea that there’s only one person out there for you, and if you don’t meet them you’re out of luck. My experience of the world isn’t nearly so straight forward, and I don’t like the idea that we’re all on one narrative track. The world is full of so much mystery, I think it has much more interesting stories up its sleeves for us than that.

To me, a more exciting and grounded idea is that there are a whole range of people out there, scores of them even, who would make all of us happy. The idea is to narrow that down to the person you’re most fascinated by, and who you can really help and grow with. That puts the romance in the choice to be together and in making a happy life together, that sounds like much more fun to me!

Isn't she one smart chickie! I think so...she is my new current favourite blogger. she has a fabulous blog!

what else...

if you haven't checked out Pugly Pixel, you must. Even though I don't know my way around all these png filey things, I am quite in love with her washi tapes and macaroons, and paper buffet and all other clever freebies on the site. digital freebies. I must figure things out, and then use these up to my heart's content! hoorah!

this site is crazy good. i really like the Moby Dick one. i've been craving some super rad t-shirts lately. so threadless is on my check-daily list of sites. this week's tees: boy in the weeds - which you can also buy as a wall graphic, and it would only be better if there was a hay bale on it somewhere
let the game continue - which I think KC would really love!
the communist party - because who doesn't love a party? or rather, even Communists like to party!

k. am done babbling for now.

what a random post? I {heart} randomness. I wonder where I will be when this post actually goes live? in bed?? hopefully.

I found this video on Vimeo the other day, while waiting for my to load.

Check it out...it's a fun look at the dying art of projectionists.

oh my

I haven't finished my Friday DIY or Technique yet! Oops! So I'm providing you with some interesting news stories today.

this one is crazy!
This sink hole is estimated to be 60 feet (18 meters) wide and 300 feet (100 meters) deep, swallowed up a three story building, and is not technically a sink hole because it was man made. They figure that a burst pipe or storm drain leaked and leaked until all the water eroded the loose pumice that the earth is composed of, and then the weight of the building was too much and down it went! wow.

I love dinosaurs.

This pterosaur is a very cool find. Their bones are so thin and fragile that they are rarely found, especially in Africa.

I also love vintage photos, and national parks. Here the two are combined!! (click on the description for the original site)

this one is funny because now they have a huge perimeter set up, and you can't get anywhere near the geyser! But look at how close these visitors are!

And I really love these last two!

Hmmm...these actually are giving me an idea for a DIY! Be back later with (hopefully) something to show for it! I also want to make muffins today, but am thinking I might need a fab icing recipe to go with. Yum-o.

p.s. today while grocery shopping I caved and bought a chocolate pudding "Snack Pack"...does anyone else automatically think of Billy Madison when you hear the words "Snak Pack" or is it just me???
