365 Project...Big Hair, Slaw and Temps Rising

March 11. Walking to pick up Lucas at school. The weather is finally warming up! But I got there too early, and it was still cold just waiting around. Too cold and too much snow to put the flags up though.

March 11 again. I'm not too good at one photo per day, am I? This is Lucas eating his coleslaw for lunch. Go figure. (We had salmon sandwiches today! tee hee)

Look, it's still March 11. Here is a picture of the big hair that I wore to the first night of the Memories Wholesale event. I heart my big hair.

Monday, March 14. Me playing with one of Darryl's old cameras at the store. I could see the image perfectly with my eyeballs, but as soon as I out my camera up to the lens I couldn't get it to work. Oh well.

Wednesday, March 16. Field trip to Telus World of Science. It was super short, and so long at the same time. But fun. Yes, lots of headache-inducing fun!

365 Project...Fun Mail, Jenga Robots and Freebies!

Monday, March 7. We played no-name brand "Jenga" which inevitably turns into building things after the first collapse. Tonight it was robots. I made an awesome TicTacToeMohawk Robot. Lucas tries to name his, but he usually just copies my name exactly then tacks on a word at the end that's different!

Wednesday, March 9. Sending some fun mail to my aunt in Texas. I am using an old Purolator envelope that I found stacks of in the office. I had to cover up all the "Purolator" branding on the envelope, so I got creative with duct tape, and a giant label (on the other side). And what's fun mail without a fun doodle!?

March 9, again. Lucas did a craft! Eek! If it involves paint, he's more-likely-than-not going to be interested. This is a little wooden lizard he got as a favour from Damien's party. It was awesome. He freaks out when the paint won't come off his hands...must not be my kid! HA! Those funny treat-looking things at the bottom of the picture are not bribes...not really!

And speaking of fun mail...March 9 brought some my way, and I want to share the love! I got my Elle Studios package in the mail, and it is full of cute things! CUTE CUTE!! And there is a lot of it, more than I will use. So I pulled some pieces I felt I could definitely part with, and am giving them away! EEK!

Leave a comment here with your name, and I will draw a winner in one week (that's the 23rd). If I get 5 comments on this I will throw in a runners-up prize! Ooh la la! The winner will receive what you see above, as well as some other matching goodies I can rustle up! And the runner up...well, we'll just have to wait and see!

365 Project...

Thursday March 3
I finally got Lucas to leave the house in the evening, and we picked up Blizzards to eat at TM. He was very happy to see Jill!

Friday March 4
I re-arranged all my LR furniture the other day. Lucas asked me if I was trying to make out house fancy like Auntie Amy's! HA!

Monday March 7
Stupid addictive video game...I can't get any work done now that I've pulled Age of Mythology out of storage. And now I've got Russel playing it too (we play together over the network), so that's no help!

365 Project...

falling behind...

Right after I did up that last post a couple of days ago, I stopped taking photos! Oops!

But I did get a couple the other day that I thought I would post...

Valentine's Day...me and my "sweetheart"
Russ actually bought me a flower for Valentine's Day! Wowwee wow wow!!
Lucas and I built this makeshift Radiator Springs in the living room on the 18th.
Then we played "light sabers" all night, and chased each other around, and made crazy noises and giggled till it was time for bed.
Even though this "project" isn't going perfectly, I'm still getting a lot out of it and enjoying it immensely! I have always liked taking pictures of (and scrapbooking) everyday events, and this will make a neat little book at the end of the year!

365 Project...but don't quote me on that...

So I have sort of tentatively decided to try my hand at a 365 Photo Project. My first thought was to laugh at myself, because I couldn't even keep up with the 52 Weeks project I tried to do a couple of years ago. I think I made it to week three before I petered out.

But so far, I've been doing okay. Not perfect by any means, but I didn't really have high hopes in that regard anyway.

As of February 2nd...
Groundhog Day. Lucas kept talking about how he was a groundhog and he could see his shadow (not that he could remember what that meant!) We dug a big groundhog burrow in the snow that he liked jumping into.
I made this perfect snow man for myself and some nondescript piles of snow for the kids to chop down (so they wouldn't chop down Odo). But they wanted to decorate him, so I pulled out my bottles of Colour Wash and they went to town. Both kids were covered with ink by the time they were done, but Lucas won for most obvious stains (all over his mouth...he has issues with his aim!)
Superbowl "Party" at Dad's. Grandma makes the best dessert and this cherry-pie filling, whipped cream, chocolate cake delicacy was no exception. So yummy! Every once and awhile Grandpa Mike would ask Lucas who was winning (the game) and Lucas would say "I don't know"...I don't think he even knew there was a special game on! He had fun playing with his cars, blocks and Poppa's iPod.
Lucas reading to himself before bed. This is Franklin and the Computer. I laugh because every time he brings home a book from the school library it is without fail another Franklin (the turtle) book. I ask him if that's the only kind of books they have at the library! He reads to himself now. He doesn't even mouth the words, but I know he's reading them because I watch his eyes.
We (meaning I) made a cool tunnel in one of the big piles of snow out front. The kids had fun watching me build it, asking me every four seconds if they could try it yet, and was it ready yet, then sliding and climbing through it when I had finished. Lucas pretended he was a penguin sliding on ice, or a bunny and this was his rabbit hole.
At Grannie and Pa's house for Saturday dinner while Mom and Heath were away. Jacob's face lights up when he sees Lucas and he wants to play with whatever Lucas has on the go. They both really enjoyed these goofy spinning gears. Lucas was worried about Jacob getting the smaller ones, but they did okay together...no fist fights!!

I'll keep you updated on my progress and my success with this 365-More-Or-Less project as I go. I'm excited to get to the end of the year and be able to see how far I've come!
