Biker. Dude.

I think he's finally figured it out. Praise Jebus. I thought this day would never come...

We try to go out every night after dinner, at least to the school and back. He has even been practicing putting his bike into the bike racks.

And I jog alongside. I keep teasing him that he's going to have to start picking up the pace so he can come on my runs with me!

With him in his pajamas and crocs, and me in my "hipster lumberjack sparkly-leggings dork", we are quite the roadside attraction. Good times.

Long Weekend!

Long weekends are good for getting shit done and lazing around. If you can get in a little of each, you've had a good weekend.

We went to the park.

We hung out on the front step. Pulled out some lawn chairs. And painted. And played iPad. And went to the mall (I hate the mall). And got a slush. And ate dinner outside. And ate dinner out. And wandered through my dream neighbourhood. And smelled the lilacs and May Day trees. And had great conversation (me, me, me, me). And dug in the dirt (me again). And did some laundry. And played with the neighbours. And cleaned the house! And then made it messy again! And played Wii. And bought new shoes (not me!) And had a time out. And vacuumed. And sorted Lego. And texted BFF. And trolled Instragram. And blogged. And made art. And got a sun tan. And ate some BBQ. And hung out with family. And played in a giant sandbox. And went for a couple of runs (me...still loving it.)

It was a good long weekend. Hell, it was an awesome long weekend.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! It's here at last! Let's make the most of it....

Spring WAS here...for a day or two...

And now it's snowing again. I was seriously contemplating wearing shorts the other day. That's how warm it was. And now it's snowing (Monday, when I'm writing this at least).

But Dude & I took advantage of the Spring-ish weather when we had it, and headed to the park after dinner a couple of nights last week. But we don't play on the equipment while we're there, no sirree. We bring our own entertainment...

Look! It's a picture of our feet! And dead grass, always with the dead grass.

Dude packed a bag full of Cars to play with. And some plastic spoons for digging (of course). I made a race track, and he built a sink hole & quicksand field. For burying his cars...of course.

For the record, he did start out pushing the tire swing. He doesn't want to sit in it and get pushed himself (and I don't blame him), but he does enjoy spinning it around, and letting it hit him and knock him down. Weirdo... (wink)

Goofy face! Happy Guy!!

So this was our spring test run. We got some practice in and now we are ready for the real thing when it finally arrives for good! This also means that I am even MORE jealous of all the blooming trees and flowers and green things in my Instagram feed. Oh yes....

There Be Puddles!

So, we are still mired in snow here in E-town. Yes snow. In April. I understand it might a foreign concept to people living south and/or west of me, but do I have any Winnipeggers and Ontario folk reading my blog? Or anyone out east? Or north? Yep. We are probably in the same boat, Sisters. But no worries! Spring will get here soon. It peeked out from behind a heavy cloud a couple of weeks ago and tricked some people in to thinking it was here to stay and that flats are now an appropriate outdoor shoe choice. It's not, and they weren't.

But some of us did get some decidedly spring activities fit in and around the shoveling, and de-icing of windshields!

Oh man! Was this ever a hoot and a half! We were freezing cold by the time we made it back to the house, and sufficiently soaked right through. The term "drowned rat" came to mind.

But fun...super super fun.
