Blah Indeed

**UPDATED: Now, you guys are the best leaving me such sweet comments! Awww!! But honestly, I never wanted this blog to look like this, and I've kind of pissed myself off with posting the yarg below. But it has shaken me up, and actually helped me come up with an action plan of sorts to help deal with this nonsense when it comes up again. Check back later for that post...much more uplifting, I promise! -Lisa Feb.14

P.S. Still loving that lame duck!

Ever feel like you are shouting out into a void, that you think is full of listening ears, but in actual reality is not?

Ever feel like you have interesting things to talk about, but no one responds, so maybe things weren't that interesting to begin with?

I dunno. Maybe I'm just having a shit week. A low week. I did eat a lot of olives the other night....

Someone shoot me a comment so I know I'm not alone out here. Am I really that boring? PITY PARTY OVER HERE. Lame-o. I am the Lame Duck.

I have been alone this week, up front (at work...my "real" job). And I am enjoying myself. I'm not getting as much accomplished as I wanted to, but I have had this slow feeling of blurgh all damn week. Y'know...when there's still the same amount of work to do, but it's less busy around you, so you think you have lots of time to do it all, and then you get distracted and nothing gets accomplished?

On the plus side, I haven't heard a recitation of a to-do list, or a complaint about Party Pooper (or a patient, or someone on the phone, or the neighbours, or the long line at London Drugs pharmacy), or been asked the most inane question ever asked (until the next one in two minutes) about something that has nothing to do with me (and never will) in three whole blessed days! Hallelujah!

I need to take a breath, and refill my water glass, and calm the F down. Stupid blurgh.

This was a weird post....probably should have just cut & pasted it in to an email to BFF. Poor bastard...

I think I'm going to keep sharing the duck photo though. Yep.

later loves

  1. I hear ya, Lisa. I'm here!! Also, I get what you're going through. Now that I'm working from home, I depend SO much on my online world and friends to keep me company, and when they don't, I feel REALLY alone.

I hope this week turns around for you, my friend. Sending lots of love, beer and delicious food your way to cheer you up.

  2. First of all -- YOU ARE SO TOTALLY NOT THAT LAME DUCK. (But I am happy you shared it because it just makes me giggle every time I see it.)

Second of all, this, like all things, will pass. And it'ts totally okay! The clouds will eventually break and the fog will roll on out and you'll be fine. Doesn't offer much help for the moment, unfortunately, but... well, yes, deep breath, drink water, do something nice for yourself. My yoga teacher the other night offered up a quote from someone whose name I forget: "Feel the feeling, drop the storyline." Don't try and analyze it too much, just feel it, let it exist, know it's natural, and move on. You're totally okay where you are.

And if you feel unstable and lonely, reach out. I'm attached to my cell phone, so you can e-mail, tweet, whatever floats your boat any time if you need company. You know, company in that weird, "we don't know eachother IRL but we're both totally cool" kind of way.

There's my lengthy rambly comment for you! ;)

  3. Hey Lisa, I know those days, too. And maybe I can make you feel better with an answer to one of your older posts .... Feb 5, Panic Panic Panic in the Studio...I do have a method for getting a total room re-organized. First I get about 20 empty paper boxes from Staples. They charge $1/box. Then I box up everything in the room that fits in a box. I only leave the big furniture. When the room is empty, I can move the big stuff around until I get it just right. Then I bring in the boxes, one at a time. I try to sort thru eveything in the box and deal with it once and for all before I bring in the next box. That way you can keep being neat as you go and not be overwhelmed with the whole pile of stuff. Sometimes it takes me a month or two to go thru it all, but since I label the boxes I can make sure I get to the important stuff first. And occasionally I send some stuff back out to the garage because I am not ready to deal with it. Anyways, hope that gives you some ideas for that pile in the middle of your studio. Have fun and keep smiling!

  4. I'm terrible at commenting on blogs, I'll be the first to admit it. But I'm trying to be better, and your post pulled me out of the wood work! You are not alone! And I use that "shouting into the void" saying a lot. :) that's so much of what the internet feels like sometimes! Crazy. But yes, we're here for you. :)

  6. HEY !!!
    Keep your chin up ;)
You're the least lame duck I know!
Lame ducks do not drink scotch on a Tuesday! No they do not!
Also, I am always listening.... Even when you think I'm not. Just say to yourself, " I know Nadine is there, she loves me" and everything will be well.
    Xoxo
