February Book List

Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley (this book is so long...oh my goodness)
The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold
Goldengrove by Francine Prose
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen...the Graphic Novel.

Recommended: Goldengrove. Mists of Avalon is a good read, but so so so long. It's throwing off my rate.

Least Favourite: Almost Moon (another book about a woman with a crazy mother...)

Most Favourite: Goldengrove. It actually has a real ending...wonder of wonders! League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but it was really quick to read, like, only a couple of hours!

For next month...
I have my eye set on a couple more graphic novels...they are my new favourite even though they take very little time to read and are pricier than a simple paperback. The Walking Dead was a series of novels before it became a tv show, so I'm excited to get into those! I think I can handle illustrated zombies better than live-action ones! HA!

I got some good suggestions from Kirsten last month...anybody else have any favourites??

  1. In the graphic novel and/or comic genre we have the first 3 Firefly novels (oooh I'm a geek)

    AND!

3 Guild comics. Which I think are comics and not graphic novels? Anyway, we have 3 (or 3? or more) and those are fun.

Sadly I haven't read a book all month because I'm stubborn and stuck on one book and apparently cannot read a separate book until I power through this one. Blargh.

  2. Cool! Could I borrow the Firefly ones (at least). I'll have to Google "Guild" cause I don't know what that is.

Which book are you stuck on? I am not one of those people that has to finish a book once started. If I hate it, it goes bye-bye! (like the Kite Runner...I don't think I even made it 50 pages in)

  3. The Guild is a web-show with....Felicia Day, it should be on Netflix (k I checked, the only have season 3 of it? wtf. lame.) BUT youtube etc have it, and I'm sure other places too!

And yes, borrow away! I'll make sure Mike isn't planning on reading them right now and things'll be a-ok!

The book I'm stuck on is part of the Outlander Series....I haven't touched it in weeks, and am *this close* to just giving up on it and picking something trashy to get me back into reading.
