Lime Door Arts + Crafts...FEATURE

I finally got all my ducks in a row and I've got my first Lime Door Feature!! Hip Hip HOORAY!

Today I am going to showcase my headbands, which have received a great response, and I really couldn't be happier about them.

All of my headbands are one-of-a-kind, but that doesn't mean you can't make a special request for a style you like that has "sold out"...unless I've run out of supplies, I can whip one up for you, no problem!

I try and use recycled and re-purposed materials wherever I can, but I always buy new headbands...Goody is a godsend! I find a lot of my best fabrics at Value Village and Goodwill! And I keep old shirts that have lived a good life, but aren't ready to die just yet. Denim is the best.

Most of the flowers are hand-stitched by me, and they are always nicely secured on to the headband and their base. I've got penny headbands as well...and I love my pennies...I should do a feature on them...hmmm...

I love using buttons and bling, and even though tulle is a pain in the arse to work with, it looks so great so I make it work!

And I love feathers...and they're always stitched on nice and sturdy so you don't have to worry about moulting during your big dance moves!

These headbands can be worn Alice or bandana style (is that even a thing?).

She wanted one to "match" the black and white one I made especially for her daughter Scarlett. So I guess this one is "Scarlett Part Two"! It's a handmade fabric flower (re-purposed fabric no less!), with lots of white tulle and a giant rhinestone in the centre.

These sparkly headbands are so great! I wish they came in every colour. It's easy for me to put something together if you tell me what colours or what style you like. Right now I'm working on a super (super) simple one for my friend Vanessa. All she wanted was a white flower and bling...no tulle, no feathers, no fancy. And it's coming along so well! I can't wait to get it to her!
