Sketch to close out September

Last day of the month...my birthday month...well, there will be time for reminiscing later!

For now, a layout!

Here is my take on Twisted Sketches #69: "flower"
I turned the sketch on its side and went from there. The photo is from Lucas' birthday...these are the fabulous tasting, but not much to look at cupcakes I made!!

Here's a technique you might be interested in:
The three "flowers" are made from 7Gypsies and Heidi Swapp tape. I cut a strip, twisted it around on itself, then stuck a brad through the centre. Then I took some thin, coloured wire and twisted it around to make the swirls, and looped it around the brads a couple of times for good measure. The entire piece is secured to the layout with a couple of stitches here and there with some fabulous turquoise embroidery floss.

Supplies list:
- Pattern paper is KandCo, Cosmo Cricket and SEI, with a Hambly transparency thrown in for good measure.
- Brads from Pebbles and I have no idea who made the wooden one
- Tape is 7Gypsies (red) and Heidi Swapp (brown)
- Letter stickers are My Little Showbox and Jenni Bowlin
- Star sticker is also Jenni Bowlin, from her little coloured notepads
- I splattered the background with three different kinds of ink. The brown is watered down Ranger Distress Re-inkers (in walnut stain). The purple is Ranger Colour Wash (in eggplant) and the red is Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (in Starfish)

later skater alligator...and thanks for stopping by!!
