Master Juba

This is my nickname for Gordon (Chantel's hubby). Story? He has a shirt with random stuff on it, and the words "Master Juba" right smack dab in the middle. (And don't worry Chantel...that other gold Master Juba page I had planned is still totally going to happen. Just get me the photo!) The small writing on the left reads: Big Guns...Big Heart. Used new awesome Basic Grey chipboard letters and shapes and Chantel's neat-o gold paint dabber.

Wall-O-Fame

This is the wall at work where we the staff post our layouts. It's supposed to just be your personal page and the "challenge" for the month. But I got a little carried away! These pages aren't on the blog yet on their own, so enjoy!

Jackin' Sarah

I absolutely love this jack. Love it. All the little fun random things. Just like me...'cept I'

m not little! Journaling reads: "I love my job if you could even call it that. I get to play all day with a group of Awesome ladies doing what we love."

Yeah, life doesn't get much better than this. I call Saturday my "day off." I don't work during the week, unless you call a 2-year old little boy a full-time job, which I do. So I always look forward to my Saturday at the store, when I can relax and create and chat with Chantel, Juli (and now Lindsey) and see my other scrapper friends when they come shopping. And I'm sure you already know from my other posts that Chantel is the best "boss." Plus, she loves me back, so you can't go wrong there either. Although she's always making me spend more money...

Tomorrow is my birthday, but I already got the best present! My girlfriends brought brownie cupcakes and candles and sang to me in the store today. Plus I got a GC, an awesome altered journal and a goodie box. In case you didn't know, I love you girls.

PLUS my hubby bought me scrapbooking supplies, which he never does and has never done! And it's totally stuff I love and would buy for myself. note: for all those ladies out there who would love their hubby/boy-toy to buy them scrapbooking supplies, but don't want another journaling template/ugly album/rolled stickers do what I did >> I filled a bag full of goodies I like and put it "on hold" under the counter with my name on it. Then I told my significant other and some others about the bag. They go in, ask for the "Lisa bag" and an easy-as-pie "shopping list" is laid out before them to choose from. For those of you who don't have I-work-at-a-scrapbook-store privileges ask your LSS if they will put stuff on hold for you for a week or so for your family to shop out of. It's easier than a list that they have to bring in with them, and this way you know you will get stuff you like because you picked it out! Just don't peek in the bag before your birthday!!

last one...i promise

I LOVE this song more than you can imagine. Best Dave Matthews Band there is:

"I have no lid upon my head but if I did you could look inside and see what's on my mind."

There will be a page 2 of this layout coming soon!

This is one reason why I can pump out the pages...there are only a couple of elements here: background awesomeness that is Bam Pop. journaling tabs care of Heidi Swapp (and some journaling, computer-style), plus the photo. Done. Voila. It's nice to do a page like this every once and awhile. Just to be able to get something on paper and enjoy the process, but not freak out about it. You know.

i'm an ogre

here you go Chantel (& Jill, even though she doesn't read my blog). Journaling reads: this McD's toy rocks the TM toy room for it's volume (loud) and it's vernacular (PG). it's getting close to requiring a battery change so it can go on delighting the kids... & Jill.

Sun-day is birth-day

Here is a page i threw together "this morning". I was feeling pretty (oh so pretty) before bed so I thought I would take some shots. Russ and I went for dinner tonight to OPM, for better-than Chinese food. Yummy in my tummy (hey Veronica, that means I have the last missing piece to your page...)

Journaling reads: "tonight i: went for my birthday dinner with Russel to OPM. i am feeling (gasp!) BEAUtifuL and inspired. older but i can still do anything. the future is wide open."
Song lyrics read:
'cause i've got a chance for a sweet sane life
i said i've got a dance and you'll do just fine
well i've got a plan with forward in my eyes
let it come.
well i've got a chance for a sweet sane life
i said I've got a dance it moves into the night
well i've got a plan with forward in my eyes
But today my heart swings

Heinrich Maneuver by Interpol
It was playing on my mp3, and I love it, and I was looking for something just right for this page, and it worked. so here it is. And I like my little skull doodles, and my frame doodles, and my pencil doodles, which only sort of come across in the scan. Did I mention that my doodles class was AWESOME and the ladies had a good time and I hope they learned something and now want to doodle on all of their pages!

In My Purse

I think it is so funny that Amy and I have such different purses. So I took a picture. And then I did a page. You know how it is!!

The journaling at the bottom lists what is in both of our purses. Mine is the longer list.

P.S. I love the new Basic Grey! I can't wait to get back to the store and buy some more (chipboard and buttons are in...hazzah!)

I found me

Before bed tonight I thought I would check the TM blog to see if she's updated any of the new stuff that has come in. And low and behold, there is an update and it is me! I am officially part of a "design team." Awesome Awesome Awesome. And hilarious. I gigled and guffawed and am still having happy thoughts! So now you can check me out here or there! Woot!

I found you

I found a bunch of cool new challenge-ish sites after stumbling in a round about way onto Anam's blog (she is TMs "blogmaster"). I'll update them to my sidebar in the next couple of days, hopefully. Until then...

http://www.pencillines.com/ They give you a sketch and you submit your interpretation.

http://sisterhoodofscrap.blogspot.com/
A jack-of-all-trades site, with challenges and sketches and sisters.

http://www.scrappersanonymous.com/
Support and inspiration from fellow addicts

http://www.journalersjunction.chindimples.com/
More challenges

http://www.anamstubbington.typepad.com/
And here's Anam

I'm not endorsing any of these sites. Some I may never go to other than to check that the links work (which I just did). But they give you some idea of all the (s)crap that is out there on the Webbernet. My blog included.

Here are some of the pages I finished at the Crop.

Any-hoodle!

I am totally looking forward to the crop tonight. Wow, that makes 2 LNC in as many months. It's almost becoming a habit. Lisa the other and Veronica will be there, or so I've been told. Going to finish my Kelowna pages and my "everyday album" ones that have been stacking up so I can move onto the K...wedding album. This one is going to be so simple. Blue, black and white. Some flowers and felt ribbon that Chantel made me buy (tee hee!). I'm splurging on a black leather album, 'cause they have a white cat and I didn't think black fabric would be much appreciated!

And then I can go back through my photos and dig up some more ideas! Kara asked me the other day if I would consider myself "caught up" with my pictures. And I had to admit that I was. She is currently working on the 300 or so pictures she took while in Australia 4 years ago!!! I don't think I could go back in time and scrapbook a whole album like that. One or two pictures of the past, here and there provide for a nice respite from today. But not 300 at once. Wham bam no thank you ma'am.

I'm thinking of yoinking some of the pics Anam took of the store that she posted on the Blog and doing a page up of my second home. I'm there often enough! Sometimes even 2, 3 times a day. But I promise I won't go there today before the crop... Chantel even babysat Lucas while she was working yesterday, so I could go to Primerica and learn about password protection and identity theft (la-di-da). It was quiet in the office when I got there, so I got to have a nice chat with one of my co-workers. I think that content will serve my other blog better. Poor Russel...I'm always dashing out saying I forgot to buy adhesive, or need to drop something off/pick something up. Talk about an absentee wife!

I think I'm done blabbling for the time being. Tootles!

I Love Orange

Right now I am totally into orange! It is my favourite colour, so I'm not totally off base here, but all of the supplies I've been evaluating for purchase were orange today. I bought orange letters and brads. I was looking at the orange Heidi Swapp tabs and some orange buttons. So here is a layout with orange, used unexpectedly I might add! This layout is just one of many Kelowna ones that have been driving me bananas. So I added some orange, and voila. Now I love it!

Journaling reads: So...we walked through the grounds of this massive complex with "the cousins" one night. It is impossible for me to describe how amazing this place is! Note: the residents have their own series of ponds serving as their marina. Gorgeous!

This was an amazing hotel/resort complex. It sits just north of the Yacht Club in Kelowna. And it is huge! The cousins says the basic room starts at $500 per night (and I've probably got the number on the low side). And you know the Panama Canal with the lock system? (that the series of waterways that can add or remove water around the ship so it comes out higher or lower on the other side because the two sides of the waterway are not the same depth). This place has a mini version!!! The lake is lower than their marina-pools. So you pull your boat into their little mini-lock and the attendant adds water until your at the level of the pools. Then the lock opens and off you go! The cousins were saying that it costs a pretty penny to keep your boat in the marina there, but it would be worth it just to take a trip in these private pools all the way to the lake!

Arrggh I hate my all-in-one printer!

Stupid thing took forever to get this scanned. Had to change print cartridges, then align them, but that wasn't working and I've still got an error message and stupid thing is on a shelf two feet above my head so I have to stand on our office chair, which is on rollers to make things more fun. Plus it's midnight and I want to go to bed now. In other words...

I've been on this weird housecleaning kick as of late. If I wasn't completely sure I'm not 9 months pregnant (I'm not by the way), I would think that I was. (You get this nesting thing...don't ask me to explain, it's complicated). I want to do dishes everyday and sweep the floors and vacuum. I even cleaned the bathroom sink! Half-assed, but it got done! What the hell-crap is wrong with me!?!?!?

NOTE: Blogger spell-checking suggested the word "arsed" instead of my misspelled "assed." Chuckle!

Arrggh!! Now Blogger won't let me upload the darn page because it's a tif file and not jpg, because my scanner still is being stupid. Things are not rad here right now people! Not awesome. Not nothing. And I can't just trick them and change the file extension. They don't like that. Maybe tomorrow my technology won't hate me and I'll be able to finish this post.

I think I figured it out...wait for it...I totally rocked this one out of the park. Check ya later!!!

Pure Morning

Two Peas was so not being coorperative this morning...so I decided to post my OLW submission here instead. Enjoy!
The photo is of my coffee cup, filled with delicious home brew. I cannot do without. I have asked myself many times: "are 5 cups of coffee considered a suitable breakfast?" No? What if I put milk in?

speak softly and carry a large stick

I am now realizing that I never want to run my own scrapbooking business. But that I am perfectly content working for someone who does. Especially when she is awesome. And what a co-ing-kee-dink that Chantel is awesome, and I work for her. Funny. Being at Scrapfest is so great, but I know that I am so not cut out for chatting and "making contacts" and being friendly and not sarcastic all the time. Chantel is so suited for this. Plus everyone loves her, so that helps! I'd rather be the one that makes ya laugh once, but then fades into the background when it's time to be serious.

I hope she keeps me around forever!

Other perks about being at Scrapfest as a vendor: I get to shop all day for free ($8 to get in, my butt!). I don't have to wear an ugly pink t-shirt and man the doors (aka "Volunteer"). I can see people I haven't seen in ages and totally love and miss (hi Andi!). I get to bask in the glory that is "famous scrapbookers." I get to hang out with Chantel (and Gordon). I get to play all day for three whole days. Why would you pass up an opportunity this awesome! And to think I could have gone to CowTown and listened the founder of Primerica talk about being awesome and how life insurance is going to save the world (disclaimer: I don't actually know if Art was going to talk about saving the world, but I know he loves life insurance so it was only a matter of time before the two got put together.) Much rather be at Scrapfest. Plus I got to add to my button collection: "I got some scrapbook supplies for my husband. Best trade I ever made!"

Hi Chantel...sorry about the gushy post! But everyone does love you! Especially Louise, but lets not talk about that (p.s. aren't you so glad for the break!!!)

Goodie Box

Neat-o Goodie Box challenge this month...do a 6 x 12 layout. Long and lean, my friends. So here's my first go. Already have the second one stewing in my head. This is a two page layout (6 x 24) so imagine the photos side by side.

Countdown to my birthday...17 days, give or take a couple of hours. Party? Get together? Hoopla? Is there any other kind?
I miss Marilyn.

Corinne...I love you!

Found this little gem thanks to OLW. This lady ROCKS, and is RAD and AWESOME and all those other words I just don't use often enough. Again with the total Lisa style, so she might not appeal to all, but her colours and her photos are so amazing. Corinne's 2Peas Stuff Check her out. You might even be inspired to try something new! And I think I will add her to my links on the side! 'Cause she makes me want to turn my chair around and do a page dammit!
