What to Wear...to my NEW JOB?!?!

Say what?! I have a NEW JOB?!?! Why yes, yes I do. If you've been paying attention, I have left my job at the periodontal office and have moved on to bigger (yeppers) and better (I think so) things. I actually got the news and gave my notice on the day of my What to Wear To Work post! The universe works in wonderful ways. You know my whole "when a door closes another door/a window opens" mess from this post? Well, this is more of that.

To be honest, I have no idea what to wear to my new job, which is strange for me. I should just be able to wear what I always wear, but this new place feels like a "pants + blazer" kind of place to me. Or "pants + cardigan" at the very least.

And I have pants, but I would much rather wear a skirt. Words I never ever thought I would ever say (or type).

I'm going to try and make my current wardrobe work, as best I can. But when faced with a dilemma such as this, my first instinct is to go to the store! "But you just spent all your savings on Mexico" says my empty bank account. And I say: "shuttup you!"

And so I've been browsing online for blazers, and pants, and cute tops. And while we're at it, why not some accessories to boot? And with spring coming, I'll need some lighter fare, etc. etc. These are cute too - polka dot hearts blouse + feather earrings - damnit!

I think for Mother's Day & my anniversary, I'm just going to ask for clothes. I feel like a teenager!

Any tips on adapting a wardrobe to a new job? Any "pants + blazer" wearers out there? Can you help a sister out?!

p.s. When I told BFF about my predicament, he told me just to wear whatever I normally wear, because I'm not the type of person to "conform" and let someone else dictate what I wear anyway. HA! Oh BFF...

Now, don't get me wrong. I still love winter, and snow, and shovelling, and all those things that get laughs from my friends, but I think my sub-conscience is trying to tell me that it needs spring to be here. Case in point, all of the clothes I bought at Value Village last night are of the spring/summer variety! And pastel! HA! And today I built this lovely set of items I'm dreaming will make their tidy way in to my closet somehow...

At least the sun is shining, and the snow is melting. Spring is on it's way!

Snow Inspired

I am feeling quite inspired and HAPPY with all the snow we've been getting recently. And trust me, there's a lot of it to inspire! This means that a lot of the things I've been pinning & lusting over in the Anthro dress shop are neutral (or metallic...same difference?). Now, you might be saying: "Say what?!" as this is very strange for me...normally COLOUR is the name of the game in my little world. Hmmm...

This has also inspired my first ever Polyvore set. Or collection. Or items. Or whatever. Please excuse the fact that I totally have (apparently) become one of those bloggers. I don't know what has come over me. I don't think it will last.

p.s. for those of you wondering, Edmonton received ~20cm of snow last week (with about 20 since the beginning of March). For my American pals, that's about 10 inches on top of another 10 inches! WHEEE!!! I LOVE SNOW!!!!
