Modcloth Interpretations

Lucas spent most of yesterday afternoon playing on the laptop, and I was "busy" getting some packing done. So this post was supposed to have gone up yesterday, but didn't, obviously. So, use your imagination and pretend you are reading this on a lovely Friday morning. And while you're at it, imagine there is no rain or cold or wind on this wonderful Friday as well!

I have been a busy worker bee this past week, crafting some Modcloth-inspired digs. I must admit that I had a lot of fun creating and embellishing some of my existing clothes. This would be a great way to refresh your wardrobe if you're getting tired of the "same old-same old".

Get a load of these...
#1. Dainty Squid Dress becomes Green Button Blue
I wanted to add some colour to this Joe dress, but it wasn't really my favourite before the addition, and I'm still not too sure about it after. We'll see if it gets any extra wear time, and if it grows on me! I might re-do this one (again), and try to make a belt similar to the one on the original dress. And if that doesn't work, it might just end up in the "donate" pile.

#2. Fun @ the Fairgrounds becomes Green Lace Shoulder Pad
This one I absolutely adore!! I could wear it everyday. I was going to do both shoulders, like the original, but I kind of like it on just the one. I've got another white tee and some peach lace that I want to try this with next!

#3. Summer Like it Hot becomes Grey Skies are Gonna Clear Up!
There is a lot of little detail work, and I just ran out of time this week. It's going to be lovely though, so you'll just have to wait and see! If I'm feeling really ambitious I might just bring it along on the trip with me! HA!

#4. Blue to Form becomes Pretty in Pink
This is my most "Molly Ringwald" of outfits. I spent all day at work, daydreaming about handsome guys named "Blaine" sweeping me off my feet in a record store! I tried to re-work a top, but it just wasn't working. This look is inspired by the dress, even though it doesn't really look like the dress! I'm going to keep trying to "fix" the other top because it needs fixing anyways!
And here is my blue hair surprise! I have a streak of dark blue running through my hair. KC says it's "very Lisa" and while the darkness is taking some getting used to again, I'm quite enjoying my new look!

and my most absolute favourite...
#5. Best Believe It becomes Best Evah!
So, I can't find the photos I took of myself in my new Best Dress. Oh my. Serves me right for trying to "organize" things between the two computers. Oh my...and this was to be my grand reveal! My favourite transformation! I actually made the dress myself...from scratch! Again, you will just have to exercise your loving and forgiving patience - that is a pre-requisite for reading my blog - and wait it out until I can either find the old ones or take new ones.

And so, there you have it. My Modcloth Transformations. I hope you enjoyed and were perhaps inspired to remake some of your own fashions! And if you do, I would love to see them!
