Skitters are Terrible Critters

First things first: Hello Amanda and thanks for your comment. To answer, nope that wasn't a whole potato in my bag. I think you are referring to the pear. That was the last of my Farmer's Market pears from ages (and ages) ago. Makes me really really want to get to the Farmer's Market this weekend! And also, props to my Lil Sis Amy who totally picked up on the Breakfast Club reference...I knew she would!!

K. Here's the mini I promised. It's the one I started awhile back and showed you a sneak of in this post (please ignore those giant photos...now that I've changed my layout once again, all my old posts are going to look mighty weird!).

Well, here's the finished product!
In this next one you can kind of see how thick this thing is. I made the closure out of some leftover elastic from my planner-project (which I have yet to post here!) and an old 7 Gypsies door pull (which I hear are making a come back!).

There is only one page out of all of these that I'm really not keen on...it's the second page from the left in the collage below.

I used mostly new Glitz Design product from their new lines (there's a circus/fair themed one, and two that are more floral-ish, I don't know the names!). I bought way too much, so I'm going to have to figure out how to use the rest of this vintage-y product on my typically standard non-vintage layouts!

Other stuff in there is: Sassafras (grey letters), Cosmo Cricket (small, coloured doily-things), Jenni Bowlin, Hambly, and lots of other random companies that I can't remember right now!

The cover is made from an old book that I ripped apart, then sewed back together. It is all bound together on a set of *new* Tim Holtz binder rings. I'm still figuring out the best way to use these puppies, but I think I have the hang of it now, and am now in class-planning mode, trying my best to figure out a student-friendly way to teach this!!

This morning I got to help out in Lucas' classroom while the kids made mini pizzas. Which means I come to wish I never taught them my name ("Lisa. Lisa. Lisa. Lisa. Lisa. Lisa. Lisa." ad nauseum), I have to push every swing "higher and more spinny", and somebody makes me laugh. This time the little girl asked me if I have a baby in my tummy (can you see where this is going?). Then she asked me why I was so big! I told her it's cause I like food, lots.

The mosquitos were so terrible at the playground, I don't know how the kids stand it! They move around so much, maybe the skitters can't catch up.

Well, that's been my day so far. Right now the Dude is playing Plants vs. Zombies on the iPad, so I'm going to try and convince him to take a trip with me to the greenhouse!

I'm trying really hard to convince myself to go as well and spend my hard earned cash on potting mix and not this beauty pictured below!
Moorea, the maker of this lovely lovely, has offered up a discount code on her blog for all her shop stuff this week! I so want to be the lucky lady who snaps this one up!

  4. LOVE that ring!

I was peaking through all the minis you have around the store- all fabulous!

I am jealous of all your creative time... not like crazy girl jealous or such.

Must be like Lisa and make time.... or start drinking my coffee straight up black so as to maximize my energy boost!
