Happy Halloween!

This one has been sitting in the dock for a long time, waiting to be called up to action!

These are the "long-awaited" Halloween photos. Well, most of them. I'm still working on the couple I got of Lucas and I (as of writing this post in Jan...).

It's another double page layout for me, which lose their lustre in the 3-ring binders I hide them in later!
Page the first.
I ended up using my stamp storage in another room, so while I was moving them from one place to another, I was forced to go back through all my "old" stamps...and remembered why I loved them in the first place! My latest technique craze is to use the oldies but goodies I have laying around collecting dust.
I really love how the journaling areas came together on this one. I wanted to scrapbook the different events leading up to Halloween, but didn't want a whole bunch of individual layouts. So I divided this first page in two using the strip of patterns down the middle. The Basic Grey lined paper and stamps help unify the two spaces, but it is still clear which photos belong to which journaling!

Page the second...these are Lucas' friends we met up with through the night.
I blurred their faces cause I'm not sure how their Mom would feel about me posting their pics here (Hi Angel!) They are very happy to be trick-or-treating!

One of my favourite techniques on this page is the neat-o background I made! I bought a piece of Basic Grey die-cut paper (from their latest travel line), and inked parts of it using a piece of foam and my blue ink pad. I didn't want to cover the background with the image, so I made it look like bits of the pattern had maybe worn away! It looks so cool in person.

Supplies: Pattern paper is no idea! and Studio Calico (elementary), and Basic Grey Basics. The Ghosts are cut from an old Making Memories Halloween line. Stamps: @ and ampersand are Autumn Leaves, the border is Stampin' Up, the star is Gel-A-Tins, the swirly spider webs are Basic Grey, letters are FontWerks? Rubons are Jenni Bowlin and American Crafts. Brad: My Mind's Eye. Bling: Doodlebug. Sticker letters: Basic Grey and Jenni Bowlin. Word sticker is Making Memories. I used Stampin Up (blue) and Ranger (Distress Black) inks. White pen is Sakure Glaze in Opaque White.

I still have one Halloween layout to finish (Lucas' costume), but after that I wash my hands of Halloween. I have a hard time buying Halloween scrapbooking products...they are all either too goofy, too weird, too classic, or too purple for me. I guess making my own stuff went well this year!

The first video was put on Digg I think...which shows how un-caring we are! (At least for now!)

Related: one day I will do awesome things like this...or try because it makes pictures look way more awesome!
