Share...what were you thinking it was??
As a mom of a young, school-aged son, this word comes up quite often in the house. Not as often as if he had a younger sibling, but we talk about it.
I like to share. I love it in fact. I want to share everything I know, everything that I have learned that might be helpful to someone else, and might save them an unnecessary headache.
Maybe that is why I love blogging. And teaching.
I had a waking dream the other night, about what I want from my future. What I want to do, where I want to work, how I want to make the most out of everything.
In this future I saw a store front for Lime Door, and inside my store women and men were making things. They were employing the DIY-strategies that excite me on a daily basis. They were making the most of out the materials in front of them, and engaging in life! They were taking home their new-found love of handmade. They were telling their friends and sharing their knowledge.
It was breathtaking.
And it was exciting!
I want to work every minute to make this future a reality. I want everything I do and accomplish lead somehow to this. I want to learn more, and try more, and make mistakes, and fall on my arse and get up and do it all again.
I will start small, miniscule even. I will do something so tiny and teensy that you might not see if for what it is...a step. A step forward.
Sometimes I will take a step back, it is inevitable and I want to accept it and address it now, so it won't deter me later.
Step One...coming soon!
I am newly inspired by this site: Craftee.com. I want to bring this to a non-web community. I want to make this a local movement. I think every community needs to be connected with each other in a real and lasting way. I think this will be what makes the future great!

p.s. the other night (jan 3) we were playing games at the table after dinner...I called it an "unplugged evening"...and we were getting silly and Lucas started asking me to list off a bunch of words that start with "S". So I started, and then he asked for an "S" word that Poppa says...!!! And I laughed and balked, and then said "shoe"! I think Lucas was confused, because I'm not sure "shoe" was the word he was thinking of, but he took it in stride and kept going. good times!
Your waking dream sounds wonderful! I closed my eyes and could see it as if I were watching through the store front window! I seriously am so excited for you! Thanks for your comments on my new year's eve post.... might not seem like anything but it was comforting.
