Sometimes it really sucks to lose time during the holidays. No day is like it was the week before, and with our schedule all out of whack, sometimes you forget what day it is! Poor Lucas is really confused! And this week is usually an "in limbo" week for me. Not quite the new year, but not feeling like December anymore. It's a wonderful, magical, in between time when anything is possible, but you probably won't get anything important actually accomplished...hmmm
So today may or may not be Thursday, but I thought I would post a layout anyways! This is for the Creative Type December Challenge, which was to finish the phrase: "all I want for Christmas is..."
My journaling reads: "All I want for Christmas is time. More time off work. More time with Lucas and R. More time to spend doing what I love. I guess what I really need is time well spent."
Supplies
I used a lot of stuff that I had "hanging around" on my desk. An ATC card from November's swap at the store, feathers and ribbon left over from my Christmas fascinator, some printed packing tape, and the leftovers from some 7Gypsies labels. The background is leftover from a Show and Tell at TM (I get all the unwanted leftovers!)
Special Techniques
The background is "embellished" with some red and orange Glimmer Mist. Don't ask me how I made it look like that...sometimes I just grab cardstock that's laying around and use it to soak up the extra Mist from another project I've got going on. I have a feeling that's what happened here!
I wrote the word "time" on a TM bag with pencil, then "traced" over the letters with my sewing machine. I stitched the ribbon, ATC, and feathers on as well. My sewing machine is the best adhesive money can buy...especially since I've run out of my regular adhesive! And I can't find any staples, and glue stick just won't cut it sometimes!
I'm trying to get some cleaning up done around here (in between Lego breaks), but I hope to be back tomorrow with a special New Year's post!

This is so artsy! I love your handwriting on the side and the ribbon. Happy New Year, you artiste, you!
ReplyDeleteVery cool, unique layout. I love the random placement of things, the upside down words and the oh so yummy flowers & feathers!
