I love the Alien movie series. Lurve. Why? I'm sure glad you asked.
#1. You need a basic understanding of physics to understand Alien's tagline: "In space, no one can hear you scream", because outer space is a vacuum and sound does not travel inside a vacuum. Dude!
#2. Sigourney Weaver is pretty much the most kick-arse lady every built. She could eat Sarah Connor for breakfast. Also, she can rock the bald look, and she can hold her own against Hellboy (Ron Perlman), and John Connor's papa (Michael Biehn).
#3. Pt. Vasquez could eat the whole crew for breakfast and still have room for Alien seconds.
#4. Michael Biehn is hot stuff. And Bill Paxton is great as frequent freak-out Hudson. And Winona Rider plays an AI and her eyes are all glassy and she seems really young and tiny (she's awesome)
#5. "The Company" freaks the crap out of me. (Not as much as zombies, but still...)
#6. The first two movies in this series prove that scary doesn't have to be all blood and guts and stuff.
#7. The last two movies prove that you can have a series of movies that don't all stink and don't run out of steam (are we on Saw 20 yet? puh-lease) and that actually relate to each other in some way. Also, cryogenics rock!
K...what is it with all the crossover actors...Pt. Vasquez was in Terminator Two (John's foster mom), and Cpl. Hicks was in the first Terminator (John's dad, back from the future!)...I guess those were the big action names in 1986. Also, both series were done by John Cameron (as was the Titanic, which Vasquez had a role in as well, albeit a tiny one). K, now it seems kind of obvious. Nevermind. But it is cool that Lance Henriksen plays the AI in Aliens, the AI Creator in Alien 3, and comes back as a "reclusive dying billionaire" in AVP. I'm sure I could come up with more, but I am tired and my brain connectors aren't behaving this morning and I'm not really in the mood for Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon here.
So here's the trailer for the first Alien movie (entitled Alien...simplicity is genius here)...enjoy...
Sorry for this yawner Video Monday post. I am trying not to get too much into the "Christmas Spirit" and talking about sci-fi movies helps that. Maybe tonight I'll watch some Walking Dead and really ramp it up.

p.s. as I am reading back over this post, I can tell I am going crazy with exhaustion. No more late night weekends...ha! that's a promise I'll never be able to keep, no matter how many mindless Mondays I have to endure! And now I am going to hit "post" and let this mindless garbage spew on to the internet, forever mingling with all the other mindless tweets and celebrity gossip and dirty stuff out there! and that will mean I'm shutting up, so that probably makes some people out there happy! ha!
