just add it to my plate...

is it crazy that I want to try and make a dress for my Christmas party? Actually, it's for Russel's Christmas party, which I am not looking forward to as much as I have in the past (no Julie and no Ryan makes for a sad Lisa). Also, it's on the same night as a family party, which is almost sounding more fun to me this year (gasp!)

I was wandering through Fabricland yesterday, looking for fun fabrics for my craft projects, and I found this beautiful turquoise and black pattern and I thought "I would love to do something with this!"...

So I've been checking out patterns online today...check it out...
This first one is the most fun, but just thinking about sewing those ruffles is freaking me out!
the one below gets double points because it states: "yes! it's easy". I like the sound of that!

and these last two I stuck in here just for fun...how beautiful are these dresses!? but I really don't think I could handle sleeves at this point!

So, in some sort of crazy Christmas-haze, I have added "learn to sew a dress for myself" to my to-do list. This is why I don't like this time of year. I get so excited about 100 projects, and then never complete any!

I'm also currently making felt ornaments (using embossed eco-felt!), and a "new favourite" that I will post about later, as well as catching up on all my custom orders and making a bunch of headbands for Christmas presents.

Somebody put me out of my misery!

note: I did so bad in Junior High Home Ec, I can't read a pattern to save my life, and I'm afraid of zippers. This idea is hilarious in its ridiculousness to say-the-least!

This is awesome...Butterick sells retro patterns. You have got to see these! so click here yo.

  2. I vote for number two, "Yes, it's easy". BUT I have faith in you that you can do ruffles, they're really not that hard. Number one is pretty too. We HAVE to see you in your creation when you're done, remember!
