I'm a Prairie Girl At Heart

a layout...

You know how I love barns? Well, this is like an homage to all the "prairie" things I love, including barns, silos, fields, hay bales, and the big blue sky that stretches on forever and ever. Again, I'm using the staff kit full of Sassafras. And since I really like the scrapbooking style of Michelle Clement (aka Scissor Quirk), I've got lots of ink going on! Maybe too much!? I only realized I was a little heavy with the brush after I finished all of these layouts and put them side by side! Eek!

Layout details: All pattern paper, "Foldies", large journaling sticker labels, border pennant sticker, heart sticker/Sassafras. Crow brad and date label sticker/My Mind's Eye. Star sticker and letter stickers/Jenni Bowlin. Lace ribbon, button and bingo marker/unknown.

No Friday DIY today! Sorry...I've been trying to brainstorm some new ideas, but I've learned it's best not to force these things cause they usually just come to me in a flash late at night! There will be more soon!
p.s. I did have a thing I could have used as a Friday DIY, but I forgot to take photos! Gasp! And it totally came to me at the last possible second, and I was scrambling to get it completed, as per usual. You see, this week is Teacher Appreciation Week. And I saw on Danielle's blog the idea she got from another site, and I just had to do it too! Except I'm not as good with creating a computer image to print as she is, so my notes were huge and really grainy. And I was having a heck of a time making those dang rosettes work! Is it just me, or is there a certain perfect ratio of length to width that if not adhered to perfectly results in lots of ripping of paper and swearing of mothers. On the plus side, Lucas got to pick out the flowers and pots for his teachers, and they were so very happy to receive their precious gifts this morning!

So it all turned out well enough...just no picture.

  2. Hi Lisa!
Did you get the mail art I sent you? I'm getting a little worried that the envelope didn't make it through customs...

  3. OMG I love that layout!! I'm totally a prairie girl, I don't think I could live in the mountains because I have an anxiety issue when driving through them (something about thinking I might fall off the mountain), yeah, I know... I have issues :)
