here
today I am reading blogs. I went through all the ones in my "there are others" list. nice to catch up again. never leave a comment though, so nobody knew i was missing! but that's enough for my brain today.
have my iPod on Mother Mother Shuffle mode. and it is so nice.
"it all started in the hayloft a-creeping. well it just started in the hay LOFT"
looking forward to our crafty art party on Saturday...should be good times! i'm bringing beer and paint. i should make a cd with some good tunes on it...a little mother, a little metric, a little imogene for Linds...gonna be there sweets?
have any of y'all seen the new series the uNusuals? it is very awesome. lots of familiar faces from other shows/movies (michael from lost...hated him there love him here, tamblyn from joan of arcadia and that pants movie, the guy who "just wants to dance" in that 70s stoner movie whose name totally escapes me right now and I am kicking myself for it...!! something with a d?...Dazed and Confused!! I just remembered!!!)
so the show is funny and smart and the characters are real and good and it's going to be a keeper! we also watched this new cartoon last week, with a bunch of famous voices...can't remember it's name either. duh
russ has a casino night with his man-friends tonight. i will be creating...hopefully. "the girls" have been doing a lot of talking about starting an Etsy store. talking but not a lot of doing...but the tides may turn on Saturday! woot! i have been "busy" making some very colourful and sort-of eco-friendly iPod pockets. i'm using repurposed shirts for the lining! hazaa! still thinking on pricing and names and what not. Lisa the other, I have a hot pink one for you...if you still want it!
projects I want to make:
- felt "Robot Chicken"...complete with red reflector eyeball (how am I going to stick that on?...)
- felt Emily from Metric...complete with 80s sunglasses, oversized black t, and purple boots (it is Emily right?? check that first, then create)
- finish my "c word" canvas (cancer, not the other one)
- finish my chair canvas...it's very large so I am mighty intimidated
- do something with the word "mighty" because I just typed it and I like it!
see other blog for rest of post...

humza
So I really wanted to go home early today. I am having an off day...when everything goes just a little screwy but enough that you kind of just want to play Sudoku in bed.
But I'm still here...Simone went home early. Boo. We are not busy, I am not busy. I have a new "work space" aka desk. It's back behind the action, so I can kind of do what I want. Like Blog.

The Metric show last night was awesome! Balancing act between good and bad...
BAD: Doors were supposed to open at 6:30, so we got there just after 6. We were informed, just before 6:30 that doors would be closer to 7, but they didn't actually open until closer to 7:30. So we stood outside for an hour...and then went inside and stood for another hour. My back was killing me by the time the show was over. Also bad, the show only lasted about 50 minutes...
GOOD: I have never seen Metric before, and it was an acoustic show (no loud drums!!) and there were only a hundred or so people there and it was AWESOME!! And FREE!! And it was just a piano and guitar...sometimes just one or the other. Really amazing! Plus Russ and I got a date night out of it.
I'm going to grab some pics from Sonic tonight and post them here.

Have been very forgetful lately...my 2009 word (FOCUS) is getting harder and harder to follow. I have given up (mostly) on my to-do list book...I wasn't getting anything done so it was kind of a waste. It was good while it lasted, but that wasn't for very long! I have about 10 House projects on the go right now...and they all depend on each other. I can't paint the DR until I've sold the pantry and moved the bookshelf. And I can't move the bookshelf until I clean out the extra bdrm upstairs. But I can't clean it out until I sell the dresser in there. But I have to sell that as a set with the rest of the bedroom furniture, which means I have to clean off and empty the other pieces that I'm currently using in my bdrm, sell them and buy a new dresser, nightstand and headboard to replace them. ARGH!
I bought some new fancy red paint the other day, but I haven't used it yet. I don't want to start making another mess on my dining room table! Besides, I like to work on my canvases during the day and I haven't been home enough lately to do that.
I'm working MWF now, every week. Lucas starts at his dayhome May 1...he had a lot of fun there when we went to check it out, so I feel good about sending him there. But I still miss him, and feel bad for him...he LOVES being at home.
Anybody know any good wedding shower games...let me rephrase that...any less-lame wedding shower games? My fall back plan is booze and croquet. Lots of booze. And food. Hmmm....sounds good to me!!!

Good Rant
I got a good rant out today. Check out ...and other song titles... for the complete story!
I'm working on a good scrapbook project, which should be posted on the TM Techneeks Blog on Thursday.
I taught a class on Saturday and it was super fun! 6 layouts in 4 hours! With lunch and snacks as well! AWESOME!

"all my troubles on a burning pile"
mother mother...latest iPod purchase and a must-have for 2009. also: Nina Simone, the Shins, Death Cab for Cutie.
note-to-self: do anti-social layout. lots of self-portraits to choose from (vain much? but I'm so hot...how can i resist?)
have been feeling very full of life lately. spent the other night reading Pride and Prejudice on my iPod and listening to my new tunes. very mellow and wonderful. can't wait until it gets warmer out so i can lay in the grass and do the same.
note-to-self: even those that look like they got it all going for them, probably don't. so don't feel so bad.
is imogene heap in frou frou? hmm? must ask lindsay.
i have awesome brothers. i am lucky.
role models may be in the last place you would think to look. don't disregard them.
everyone has something to teach you...even your mother. (especially your mother)
bought new sunglasses. $720 later...but they're prescription and very cute, so you can't fault me. and coach...
these colours...

don't listen to all the negative things people say about you...especially the ones in your own mind. they mean nothing unless you give them power over you.
i forget...
geeks are hot.

tattoo??
minus: these jeans are too tight
plus: so tight i don't want to eat, so possibility of them getting less tight exists
My new shoes. love at first sight. don't deny it...you felt something too.
