Merry Christmas!

How was your Christmas?? Mine was good! Saw lots of family, and we're still not done theoretically (thanks to Scott and Jessica for unwittingly bailing us out of another dinner!!). Santa was good to the Kercher clan...especially Lucas. I think I need to buy another house just to store all of his new Cars stuff!!Oh and batteries. I need to go buy lots of batteries!

My fave gift is the Gorilla tripod Mom and Heath bought me...it can go anywhere and hang from anything. I took the picture above by wrapping it's legs around the arm of my parent's treadmill. It is super cool, and small so I can take it with me wherever I go. And I got a digital picture frame, which is kind of neat-o too. And I got three of the same brooches in three different colours!! But that's okay because if I take them all back, I can buy a nice pair of pants or a sweater or something. Funny how that works! They are all SO gorgeous, but do I really need three???

I even got to work for a couple of hours today at TMs Boxing Day Sale. Nothing like the Best Buy Sale that Russ convinced me to go to. Oh man was there ever a line up...and we showed up after 3pm! I would hate to have seen it at 6am!! I heard people were already lining up at 2:30 this morning. NO deal is worth that! I think TVs and anything with the words XBox 360 or Wii on it were going fast. There was this annoying woman in front of us in line who bought this little iPod/Blackberry/PDA pouch-thing...why would you fight the crowds for that??

I've been staying up late watching lots of sappy movies the past couple of days. If you're up for a good chick flick, check out: Becoming Jane with Anne Hathaway and yummy James McIvoy; Little Women, which is good despite the fact that Winona Rider is kind of a corny wuss bag; The Shop around the Corner which is the movie that You've Got Mail (with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks) was based on. The original is black and white and stars Jimmy Stewart, and boy-howdy does he ever have giant hands. I'm not kidding! I also caught Meet Me in St. Louis with Judy Garland, which is like a Christmas movie that isn't really a Christmas movie!

I already have a mini-album planned for the new year...one page a month of me: self-portraits, words of wisdom, that sort of thing. AND I've devised a unique way of displaying my mini-albums, as none of them want to be the stand-up-by-themselves sort. I screw a little hook into my wall, and hang it from it's handy binder ring! Awesome!! And when I get sick of looking at one, I can just exchange it for another one in my stash! Woot!!

Okay, that's enough for now. I'm thinking it will be quiet in the store tomorrow, so I might get some work done on the new mini. And I'll be sure to post!

Love ya long time,
Usa

you better watch out...

here are a couple of layouts to tide you over! I got a lot done on Saturday at work. I really like the bottom one...the picture is from the outdoor mall in San Diego. but I have been having issues taking pictures today, so I won't post the other layouts.
Still no Christmas decorations up at home...I should have been doing that tonight, but totally didn't!! I did have a cool idea for another art piece! Now I just need to find a wire clothes hanger and some wooden clothes pegs...
Want to hear a funny story? And have a little laugh at my expense? I walked over to the playschool to pick up Lucas today, and when we went to leave I couldn't find my house keys. So I looked around the classroom, and still couldn't find them. I figured they must be outside...somewhere in the giant snowy field I walked through!! We wandered all the way home, chatted with a cute little fuzzy puppy, and NO KEYS. I was convinced that they were long gone, not to be seen until the spring thaw. Just as I was about to call Russ and have him come home to let us in, I saw my keys still in the lock!!! I am just so brilliant.

Just Stuff

An excerpt from my art journal.

My new vanity/desk thing. It's not in the picture, but I have a cool Tiffany-inspired lamp on the left there. It looks super rad! And I think I've finally narrowed down my wall-colour selection, so I'll be starting on that in January!!

I've been saving my blabbering for my other blog. Blah Blah Blah

look what you've started...

Me that's who. I started an art journal of sorts...finally getting around to my Ashley Wren online class stuff. I just printed off a bunch of her journaling prompts, pulled out some of my treasured scraps, and went to it! Had an old album kicking around (thanks paula!) that is working pretty well so far!

We'll see how this works out for me...I'm trying to be better about seeing an idea through to its finale, instead of just abandoning it when something cooler comes along!! And I hope this will help my creativity last through the slow patches each month...it's a really good place to test out ideas for layouts and art projects.

Wish me luck.

Mini Album Madness!

Here are some recent mini albums...yummy!

Halloween...I used the cool Little Yellow Bicycle house chipboard album. Super cute, except for the fact that it's covered in fingerprints. Agh!

Lucas' first field trip...I still have to finish the journaling (ain't that the story of my life), but I will get to it one day!! It was super simple and fun to make!

I'm still getting over my cold (#2), so it's been hard to scrapbook at home, but I did get a couple of layouts done at work on Saturday. You'll have to wait until their Techneeks are posted to get a peek!
And I'm working @ the office more again, and it's okay, but it's a new schedule to try and get used to. And I am so not ready for Christmas at all! No cards to speak of, no decorations out yet, only 2 Christmas presents bought...unless you count the new BIG TV Russel bought last weekend! Doesn't "my boyfriend George" look good in flat-screen LCD!!

A pic of a yummy stir fry I made the other night...I love when the food turns out all colourful AND yummy!

And I am in love with Kijiji. I sold two things that were just collecting dust in my house, and bought a rad antique Vanity/desk that is now sitting in my dining room. It wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it's pretty darn close! And it will look even better when I paint the rest of my walls!

And I will always love IKEA!! Aren't these little guys just a hoot! Right now they don't have a real home, so they are just sitting on top of my fridge!

I think that's all for now. Russ is watching Heroes, which I refuse to watch, so I have some more time to kill before bed!
Later,
