Hey Lisa you're so fine

I know you are but what am I? Self Portrait Challenge Hey Me, you need to check this out. Yeah you, the one behind the croppy bangs and glasses you're just now starting to hate. Remember this link here and check it out (caramello). This means you. This is your last warning.

I am strong I am invincible I am woman (hear me roar)

this page needs something...?

I dunno, does it? I would like to add a title, but am not sure where or in what colour or size. Argh! I think it's purtty enough as is, but a title isn't a bad thing to add! P.S. this page is just for me...not for any challenge. Veronica, found out about HMITM yet? They take so long to decide! I can't wait for the new Goodie Box one in September, and the Scrapjacked ultimate dare.

Lisa's thursday evening crop - 1st edition

I'll be going to Treasured Memories tomorrow night, around 6-6:30pm to do some scrapping. Anyone wanting to join me is welcome. I'm bringing some snacks, my yummy coffee and all the inspiration you can handle. I had so much fun last Friday, I just have to get back to the store! Chantel just got some cool Japanese-inspired ribbon tape ($1.50 a roll) and gorgeous wall art from Rouge de Garance Check it out on the blog.. I bought a bunch of the ribbon and am thinking about some of the wall decals for the day I get rid of my fireplace...it's going to happen! and then I get my new floors...hoorah!

Chantel did this page up for me after the crop was over (she went over to Jill's dream scrap room and they cropped into the wee hours!). She and I did a photo exchange. I did an awesome layout of her and a lobster.

it's electric!

Tarantula

This song kicks sweet sweet A#@! I forgot how awesome the Pumpkins were! Video very White Stripes-y! Rad!

I don't want to be anything but me...

Went to Treasured Memories LNC on Friday night...not to work but to play! But that didn't stop my favourite customer from asking me to help her pick matching paper every moment or two. (Note: "favourite customer" here should be dripping with sarcasm). The girls were laughing at me, and wondering if they could help provide a distraction the next time she asked for my professional opinion. I figured I didn't mind, because then maybe Chantel would get a break from it! I got a bunch of pages done, but mostly it was just fun hanging out with the girls, who I don't get to see often enough. Nadine is engaged (hoorah!), and Naomi and Veronica are in a running clinic. i got to catch up on gossip (Jamie moved to Saskatoon!) and see them in scrappin'-action. This was Naomi's first crop (crop-virgin!), so she brought everything she owns, which is no small feat! By the end of the night she had women from other tables asking to borrow her supplies. We laughed at how we all scraplift off each other, and if you look through Nadine and Veronica's albums closely you will find striking similarities. Corey (of Nadine and Corey) brought Veronica half a birthday cake to celebrate her 25 1/2 birthday. All around it was loads of fun.

I'm going to try and post my pages here today or tomorrow. I actually have nothing planned for this week! It's weird, and yet strangely liberating! I don't have to worry about a present for the wedding we are attending on Sunday >> they are getting some cash-ola. And I have no appointments for my other job...yet. I want to get some more prep done for Scrapfest (work, not play) and of course I could always use some more scrap-time! Maybe I'll plan a mini crop for myself and anyone out there who would like to join me. Like I said, I'm free all week!

Busy Busy Busy

Even without the challenges, I still have a lot of pages I want to get to. This one I finished today, along with a class kit (exciting I know!) I'm all covered in paint and my back is sore, but I love how the 1st one turned out. I can't wait for the LNC tomorrow so I can get more pages done! The second page is the other layout I submitted to the last Goodie box challenge. I got an honorable mention again!! One more Scrapjacked challenge and then I can take a break!
We got the new Basic Grey in the store the other day. I can't decide if I should buy all of it, or just buy all of it...oh wait. That's not going to help any! The Halloween Making Memories came today and it is so awesome (a flocking kit, a cheap embellishment kit and a cool flocked spider web paper...just to name a few favourites!). Now I for sure have to dress Lucas up.

Why me??

Or rather, why not me? I thought for sure one of the pages this week would do it. Alas. I was wrong. I think I'm going to take a break from challenges for the time being. I'll finish my Scrapjacked month and then I'm off. I know it's not all about winning, but part of it is about winning!!

I finally got my Cafe Press order, and it cost me an extra $10 in customs. Argh! I'm currently wearing my awesome "Q'apla" shirt and coffee button. They make me happy regardless of what they cost! My next order is just moments away from being placed! Woot!

okay one more...

This is a page that took form just moments ago. I might submit it to Goodie Box. It's in response to Ali Edwards monthly-ish semi-inspirational email I get. She wants us to scrapbook a story from each day, because every day has a story, even if it's just: "I went to the store and bought milk." She said to make the page simple, and that it didn't have to feature photos, etc. etc. So here goes. This was a funny moment in my otherwise normal day. but what's normal for me today, won't be normal for me next week, or next year. That's why it's cool to document this little stuff that happens, that enters your mind and then leaves it for other more pressing matters. Plus I wanted to use the Simposonize I did for Lucas. Ain't he cute! And yellow! For mine, check out my Facebook profile.
Getting my hair cut tonight. I'm thinking Mia Michaels (from SYTYCD), but I probably won't go that far. Hard to sell life insurance when you look like a crazy coot!

More challenges...and then stop.

I submitted to Goodie Box and OLW today. These pages were fun because they are random fun photos that may not have ever been scrapped (oh, who am I kidding, of course they would have!). The pictures of my scrap room I took only after reading the challenge and trying to figure out what I could do with it! I gave Chantel a master idea for the Goodie box challenge: simple.special.everyday. It will rock it up! You have until Sunday to submit something (email to thegoodieboxgirls@hotmail.com) I got an "honourable mention" on the last challenge, so I am so ready for this! I'm even going to try and get another page off by the end of the week! Plus Ihave birthday to shop for, and class to teach...what's a girl to do!?!?

New Stuff to Drool Over (but not on..eww!)

So Veronica and Paula have both posted their new faves that are coming out. I agree with them on all points. I will add the new Basic Grey to the discussion. I love it all. These rub-ons will be an especially happy addition to my little scrapbook family. I like the little people at the bottom!
My other fave that I have to wait to buy because I spent my whole August budget already, is the new clear album by Page Frame. It's really thick plastic and transparent. There are some design issues I'm trying to work out, but I get to play with the store's stash, so I can figure out how best it will look without wrecking my own! Look for a class in the fall...hopefully!

Challenges-a-plenty!

Things are ramping up for challenges this month. Effers is now a "mortgage lender for bad credit" blog, but I'm still keeping busy. Here are my submissions for HMITM (Amy @ 25) and Scrapjacked (orange). I keep getting the pages submitted right on the deadline. I'm so bad. It's just like being back in school! I actually finished the last HMITM challenge...but was too lazy to scan it and stuff, so I never submitted. Might I just say that it was so rad it would have blown their minds. Better luck next time. I mean this time.

Light the Night

Please visit my Light the Night website. My family and I are walking and fundraising in honour and support of my brother in law James and my uncle Rick, both of whom have been fighting cancer since last fall. You can donate to the cause directly from this website, or contact me to do it in person. There are a lot of good facts and information about the society and the diseases they "represent" on the website, so please check it out if not to donate than just to learn more.

Kelowna and Back

I promise to start posting some of my pages of the Kelowna trip here once I get a minute. I have a minute now, but I don't have any pages done...

I miss the effers.
